Fully Custom Journeys
Designing a truly exceptional journey begins with understanding how you like to travel — the pace you enjoy, the types of places that inspire you, and the experiences that will make a destination feel meaningful rather than simply visited.
At JW Destinations, every trip is designed from the ground up. We don’t select itineraries from a catalog or simply plug travelers into pre-designed tours. Instead, each journey is thoughtfully crafted based on your preferences, travel style, and the unique opportunities a destination offers.
Custom itinerary design begins with a Trip Design Fee of $1,000 for a week-long family vacation. This fee may vary depending on the complexity of the itinerary, number of travelers, and destinations involved.*
This initial step allows us to dedicate the time needed to research the destination, identify the best in-country partners, and carefully design an itinerary that reflects how you want to experience the world.
Transparent Pricing
For many custom journeys, I work with a trusted network of in-country partners and destination specialists who I’ve carefully selected over time. These are the teams who bring a destination to life behind the scenes—coordinating accommodations, private guides, transportation, and local experiences so everything flows seamlessly once you arrive. Through these relationships, I’m often able to access preferred or contracted rates, along with trusted on-the-ground support throughout your trip.
My role is to design, refine, and oversee every aspect of your journey—from the initial concept through your return home.
For fully customized travel, a trip management fee of 20% is applied to the net cost of the travel services arranged. This reflects the ongoing coordination, attention to detail, and support provided throughout the planning process and during your time away. This fee is confirmed and collected at the time your trip is secured.
In some cases—such as hotel reservations, cruises, or select travel products—I may be compensated directly by the travel partner. When this occurs, you’ll typically receive the same pricing as booking directly, while benefiting from my guidance, oversight, and access to preferred partner amenities.
Whenever possible, I prioritize clarity around pricing—so you feel confident in both the experience being created and the value behind it.
Beginning the planning procesS
Once you decide to move forward and the trip design fee is paid, we begin the creative process of building your itinerary.
This stage represents a shared commitment: we dedicate our time and expertise to designing your journey, and you are ready to begin shaping the trip together.
From there, we begin identifying the best accommodations, partners, and experiences for your travel style and budget. We carefully consider logistics, pacing, and meaningful local experiences to ensure that your trip flows effortlessly from beginning to end.
A thoughtful, collaborative process
Designing a custom journey is an iterative process. As we refine your itinerary together, adjustments may be made to ensure every detail feels right — from the hotels you’ll love waking up in, to the experiences that will become the stories you bring home.
Some trips naturally require additional levels of research or coordination, particularly when they involve multiple countries, remote destinations, or highly specialized experiences. If additional advisory services become necessary, any associated fees will always be discussed and agreed upon in advance.
All advisory and planning fees are non-refundable, as they reflect the time, research, and expertise dedicated to designing your journey.
